LSD-Process

The layer-by-layer slurry printing process consists of distinctive process characteristics and steps.
Compared to the LIS process, this is a binder-supported 3D printing process.

  • All ceramic materials can be processed regardless of their chemical composition and particle size
  • The ceramic materials are prepared into a water-based suspension
  • This suspension (layer thickness between 25 to 200 µm) is applied layer by layer
  • Complete drying of the ceramic suspension in each layer takes place to form a compact powder bed
  • The binder is specifically introduced into the powder bed by means of print heads, thus generating a three-dimensional component (green body).
  • The component is then washed out of the powder bed and subsequently dried
  • This component can be reworked or sintered directly in the condition without any problems
